Friday Jan. 22nd, 2010CONAN O'BREIN
Conan O'Brein had me on his show more than any of the other late night shows and for that my career and I will be forever grateful. I went up in flames the first time I went on and still they had me back. They were the first show to panel me and during the break Coco and I talked extensively about Gretsch Guitars and Brian Setzer. He told me that Setzer told him to skip the vintage route and buy new because they were so well built. That is why I now have two! I had an open invite to perform my skits on his Tonight Show when I ever I wanted. I was hoping to do just that this summer. Whooops. The last time I saw him was at a friends house. We talked a lot about how certain guitars dictate to you what to play and our fondness for all things twangy including Los Straightjackets the Mexican Wrestling Mask wearing surf band that were frequent Late Night guests. He's just a really nice/good guy. I liked his Tonight show and will miss it. My guess is though that Conan will end up somewhere great, someplace that respects his talent, and when he does I'll be regular on Kimmel. Good Luck Conan and thank you! GB
