Thom Browne is a menswear designer. He is the ONLY menswear designer right now and the only bright spark in this years wholly uninspiring SP10 fashion week. The reason I like this guy so much is not only does he have an inspiration (Late 50's and Early 60's Brooks Brothers) but then he does his own freaky thing with it. Yes some of it is completely bizarre unwearable by most men but it is art form as well, and it's influences his have been felt everywhere from the Gap to Mad Men. His suits are too expensive for this guy but I bought and wore a tie of his in my special (GREG BEHRENDT IS THAT GUY FROM THAT THING) and Jennifer Aniston also wore the same one on the cover of GQ! Malcom Mclearen said "It's better to be a grand failure than a benign success." Thom Browne obviously believes that and I find that inspiring!
